This made me recall one of my favorite movies, The World's Greatest Dad. In the ending scene, Robin Williams the main focus of the movie, utters the following words (they may not be the precise words he said, but I will never forget the conceptual meaning he meant). He said, and I quote, "For a long time I feared that the worse thing in life is to end up all alone. But it is not. The worse thing is life to end up with people who make you feel all alone". That I think pretty much sums up Salena's choice of cloths in the Christmas evening. Despite all you go through in life, if you're surrounded by people that genuinely love you, you can get through it all. In a certain sense, I think that's what Selena meant by wearing this specific dress.
